Who We Are

North Hastings Community Combat Club (NHCCC) is a registered nonprofit that offers free combat sport programming — including boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu — to under-privileged and at-risk youth and families in the Bancroft area.

Tools for Life, Not Just the Ring

Preventing High-Risk Behavior

By offering purpose, routine, and positive community engagement, NHCCC helps youth steer away from harmful behaviors. When young people feel they belong, are seen, and have goals to work toward — they’re less likely to fall into patterns of violence, substance use, or disengagement.

Discipline and Self-Confidence

Combat sports teach focus, consistency, and inner strength. As participants grow in their skills and hit personal milestones, they gain a deep sense of pride and belief in their own capabilities — both on and off the mats.

Mental Health Support

Our trauma-informed approach creates a space where participants feel safe, supported, and connected. Regular physical activity combined with mentorship boosts mood, builds resilience, and reduces symptoms of anxiety, depression, and isolation.

Emotional Regulation

Through structured physical movement and coach-guided practices, youth learn to manage stress, frustration, and anger in healthy, non-destructive ways. Combat sports give them a safe outlet to release emotion, build self-awareness, and develop calm under pressure.

Through partnerships, mentorship, and a deep commitment to community well-being, NHCCC is planting the seeds for long-term impact. We envision a future where every youth in North Hastings — no matter their background — has the support, structure, and sense of belonging needed to thrive.
