Cody Purtell is a lifelong martial artist, and professional fighter, with a deep commitment to building stronger communities through combat sports. As the owner and head coach of Bancroft Boxing & Grappling, and the founder and president of NHCCC, Cody has turned his passion into purpose — creating safe, inclusive spaces where youth and families can grow, connect, and thrive.

A proud Bancroft native, Cody's roots run deep in the local community. As a standout football player and high school wrestler, he knows firsthand the value of sport, and the consequences of not having enough structured, positive outlets. His own experiences inspired a mission: to ensure today’s youth have the opportunities he once wished for.

Cody brings a wealth of experience from training in diverse gym environments, from general fitness to high-level competitive fighting. But above all, his focus is on mentorship, empowerment, and discipline. He believes martial arts isn’t just about fighting, it’s a path to self-improvement, resilience, and lifelong growth.

Through his leadership at NHCCC and Bancroft Boxing & Grappling, Cody is helping shape a generation of confident, capable individuals — one round at a time.

Solataire Robinson is a passionate mental health and addictions advocate, trauma-informed leader, and proud mother of four boys. Based in Bancroft, she brings both lived experience and professional expertise to her role as Vice President and Co-Founder of NHCCC.

With a diploma in Mental Health and Addictions Counselling and ongoing studies in Psychology, Solataire is deeply committed to supporting youth and families through accessible, community-rooted programs. She believes in the power of early intervention, mentorship, and movement to build resilience and reduce high-risk behaviours, especially in rural regions where services are limited.

Solataire has always followed her own path. She lives off-grid, homeschools her children, and is building an eco-friendly home in L'amable made of tires — reflecting her belief in sustainable, purpose-driven living.

Through NHCCC, she hopes to break generational cycles, foster empowerment, and help young people feel seen, supported, and strong.

Brooke Sararas is a proud First Nations woman born and raised in Bancroft. She is a dedicated stay-at-home mother to two boys, ages 11 and 16 months, with her third child expected in December 2025.

​

Brooke has a strong passion for volunteering and enjoys spending her free time learning new skills and making memories with her family—whether at home or out camping in nature.

​

As a Co-Founder and Director of North Hastings Community Combat Club (NHCCC), Brooke is deeply committed to its mission. She believes in the power of community spaces to foster confidence, connection, and growth. To her, NHCCC is more than just a gym—it’s a second home where individuals and families are welcomed, supported, and empowered through martial arts and meaningful relationships.

Originally from the Peterborough area, Melissa made the move to Bancroft in 2016 and has proudly called the region home ever since. Her passion for martial arts began early, earning her brown belt in Judo as a teen and later transitioning into boxing during her late teens and early twenties.

Melissa brings a deep appreciation for the discipline, confidence, and resilience that combat sports can instill. She’s thrilled to see a space in the community where youth and families can access these opportunities and build lifelong skills in a supportive environment.

As a Director of NHCCC, Melissa is proud to contribute to a mission that blends mentorship, movement, and meaningful impact.
